Stamford Connecticut does a “bang up” job on promoting the Alive @ Five concert series!

Lee DeWyze will be playing the Alive @ Five concert series in Stamford,Ct with two opening acts of Corey Crowder and the “Battle of the Bands” local winner, Stalking Sally! The Lee DeWyze concert will be on June 30th at 5 pm.

Stamford Downtown has done a wonderful job promoting this event for months with flyers and press everywhere online so I can only imagine that no one in Stamford doesn’t know about this event. It is sure to draw a big crowd so get there early!

‘Idol’ champ Lee DeWyze headlines Alive@Five

 

Season nine “American Idol” champ Lee DeWyze will take the stage at Stamford’s Alive @ Five concert series Thursday, June 30.

A former paint salesman from Illinois, DeWyze impressed judges and fans of “American Idol” with his renditions of U2’s “Beautiful Day” and Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.” His gravelly baritone and rootsy guitar playing made him a favorite on the show.

In the final round of “American Idol,” DeWyze beat Crystal Bowersox to earn a recording contract with RCA and a headlining spot on the 2010 American Idols Live tour. His major label debut, “Live It Up,” was released in November.

Corey Crowder and Stalking Sally also will perform Thursday in Stamford.

DeWyze’s Alive @ Five stop is part of a cross-country tour that kicked off April 30 in Elkins, W.Va., and includes a performance at the Brighton Music Hall in Boston on Friday, July 1.

Columbus Park is at the corner of Washington Boulevard and Main Street, Stamford. Thursday, June 30, 5 p.m. $10. www.stamford-downtown.com.

Stamford Connecticut has just concluded their Downtown Bandapalooza’s Battle of the Bands where six local talents competed for the opening Alive@Five spots for the headlining groups.

“Stalking Sally” has won the opening act for Lee DeWyze.
