It was the concert of concerts. Fans came from near and far. Those attending the April 19th show at Viper Alley listed fans from Indonesia, Canada, Wisconsin, New York,Montana,Texas, Florida,Ohio, Missouri, Tennessee, Pennsylvania and I’m sure I missed a state or a country somewhere in there. But the point is that they traveled for many miles to the windy city of Chicago to watch Lee DeWyze perform his music on his home turf at Viper Alley.

Four years ago many of these people didn’t even know each other. Brought together by the love of DeWyze’s music they now call themselves friends and family. They stay at each others houses and they travel together. They are connected in real time by social media and they tweet real time show pictures and post video’s.

Knowing all of this it came as no surprise when one local Chicago fan, Annie (@DeWyzeFan6),told me she was going to purchase 300 glow sticks to hand out to concert goers as a surprise for Lee when he sang his new single, Silver Lining at the Viper Alley show FridaSurprised he was! Take a look at the following video’s where 300 glow sticks lite up the venue during Lee’s performance of Silver Lining!

This Lee DeWyze quote was  posted on Twitter by @MareKatsip and when I read it I realized that it really sums up what makes Lee DeWyze so special and why fans remain endured to him regardless where the road takes him.

This fandom came together three years ago with a common love of Lee DeWyze’s music.They became friends, travel companions,Twitter buddies,Lee DeWyze promoters and though not traditional and no one is related they call themselves “FamiLEE” and at the heart of this is Lee DeWyze.,

Tonight Lee DeWyze took the stage at the Great Hall on the Iowa State University campus to host Cyclone Idol and perform following the event.

Lee DeWyze will appear for the third year in a row at Viper Alley in Lincolnshire on April 19th at 8 pm. In 2011 DeWyze played the grand opening of the venue and again last year to sold out crowds.

In preparation of Lee DeWyze’s live show in the Chicago area in April two hometown fans are showing their strong support by creating these awesome info cards  below and making time in their own busy schedules to  distribute a poster provided by Viper Alley to local businesses with a goal to fill the venue for the third year in a row with the support and love of his hometown crowd.

Designed by Twitter fan @DeWyzeFan6, she and @Magical_Lee have spent the last month spreading the word about this local show with the poster, info cards and online via social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook. This creative and loyal fan duo also have organized a local group who spread the love of DeWyze’s music each summer at the Mount Prospect Block Party in the singers hometown.

Many thanks to @DeWyzeFan6 and @Magical_Lee and all the Chicago fans who have supported Lee from the beginning on American Idol. Your support and hard work is noted and in the words of DeWyze himself, “Their support is appreciated tenfold. I love those guys and there is nothing better than going home to play a show and see all of them. I am excited”

Today via this video announcement below Lee DeWyze announced to his fans on Twitter and Facebook that his music has found a new home. That home will be at Vanguard Records. DeWyze will join popular artists such as Matt Nathanson and Chris Isaak on the Vanguard roster. 

Lee also expressed to fans that they can look for a single and a new record release in 2013!

This is exciting news for Lee and his fans and we could not be happier for him or more confident about his future…..Congrats Lee DeWyze!

Tomorrow, January 15th at Noon PST Lee DeWyze announced today he will be posting a special announcement via video.

Many fans took to his Twitter and Facebook pages to make “guesstimations” that ranged from a new baby to the release date of his new CD….But until tomorrow at Noon it is only speculation. The suspense is pretty exciting, don’t you agree?
