Lee DeWyze has been posting some incredible covers lately including Adele’s “Someone Like You” and RadioHead’s “Creep” and both of these were extremely well done but even these great cover’s did not prepare fans for his new cover of Mumford and Son’s “Awake My Soul” 

In this cover Lee utilizes his vocal and technical skills! I could tell you how brilliant this rendition is it is but it’s easier if you just take a listen yourself:

Lee DeWyze will be hitting the road in October on a nationwide tour which will include performances of music from his past albums, cover tunes and new music from his soon to be released album.

I love watching these “LIVE IT UP TOUR” video’s! Don’t you? I honestly could watch them all day and never tire of them and one may think I would get tired of watching the video’s over and over as I post them but I never do! To the contrary it makes me even more excited to see the shows LIVE and honestly I am so envious of the people behind these camera’s! I know I have posted most of last night’s video from the Concert in Fort Meyers, Florida but these are just SO good and while Lee is on the Asia leg of his tour this gives us all some great video’s to watch till the musicman returns home.

Live It Up

I agree with Rocco’s Pop Revolution Blog that this Countdown has gone on for a really long time. I need to go back and read the small print and see how many cycles there actually is in this. I think some people may begin to tire of voting but then they throw a spin into the mix and every cycle new video’s are added which means new fans and new energy from the newbies.

This cycle Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” was added and as you can see she is a leading over Lee DeWyze by just a couple thousand votes. I know you can watch all the video’s over at Musiqtone but for fun let’s look at what we are up against here. First let’s take a listen to the two leading videos:

Taylor Swift, BACK TO DECEMBER:

Clearly, it’s hard not to love Taylor Swift! I actually love this song and let’s face it Taylor is a mega star so Lee being behind her is not a hard pill to swollow. Nice girl, great song, sweet video.

Lady Gaga, BORN THIS WAY:

I could write a book about this video but I won’t bore you. Personally I could really have done without the whole “re-birth” simulation and what is she even talking about? “Mother Monster?” As with other artist who are incredibly talented and creative she has gone over the top in my opinion and just gotten weird with this video. It saddens me really because back in the day not so long ago during BAD ROMANCE I loved her music but then again that was before she was carried to the Grammy’s in an egg and demanded all copyrights to concert photography! Honestly the song isn’t bad at all if you can get past the first 2 minutes of the video. Bottom line she is just too, too, too…..you can fill in the blank! AND she does not deserve to have this video ahead of Lee’s. It’s too WEIRD. Carry on, Gaga.

Lee DeWyze, SWEET SERENDIPITY:

AHH, nice, normal and upbeat LEE DEWYZE! He’s adorable in this and its a simple message that good things can happen. Sweet!! SERENDIPITY!! «FUN WORDS TOO!

He needs our votes guys. To be behind Taylor Swift and BACK TO DECEMBER who has won several cycles is one thing but we simple can’t let SWEET SERENDIPITY fall short of that creepy video. I like Gaga’s music but that video needs to go back in the egg. Sorry, it just does.
